Search & Install

The community catalog lets you discover and install MCP tool collections. Browse the catalog at getspectral.sh/catalog or use the CLI.

Find tool collections by keyword:

Terminal window
spectral community search <query>

Results show each collection’s name, description, tool count, success rate, and usage stats. Collections you have already installed are marked.

You can also browse and search the catalog from the web at getspectral.sh/catalog.

Install a collection by its <user>/<app> reference:

Terminal window
spectral community install romain/planity-com

This downloads the tool definitions from the spectral-tools repository and stores them locally. Installed tools are immediately available via the MCP server.

If the collection includes an auth script, it is installed alongside the tools. You can then authenticate with spectral auth login <user>__<app> to get full access to authenticated endpoints.

Catalog-installed apps are stored with a <user>__<app> naming convention to avoid conflicts with your own apps and to allow installing tools from multiple users for the same service.
